Cold Weather, Warm Insights – Stockholm Fintech Week
Stockholm welcomed us with classic Nordic winter weather. Locals said it wasn’t that cold – but trust me, I felt it. I got sick, froze, and wasn’t exactly at my best. But hey – the conference won’t attend itself, so I pushed through two full days of learning and connecting with the Nordic fintech scene.
One observation from the trip: Nordic culture is… reserved. Let’s just say they’re not exactly waiting for visitors from the Baltics or beyond. They’re comfortable with their own – with the networks and relationships they’ve built over generations. Southern or Eastern fintech “troublemakers”? Often met with a polite smile… and a bit of skepticism.
Still, it was great to connect with the team from Nordic Fintech Magazine and a few others from the local community. And despite the frost, Stockholm Fintech Week is definitely a conference worth visiting again.
I even stepped onto the startup stage to pitch my project – a familiar but long-forgotten feeling. I think I handled it just fine. 😊
Let’s see if next year Stockholm welcomes us with a bit more sunshine – weather-wise and otherwise.
